La Doufleur by Andressa Negri (Empowering Mothers, Empowering the World)
La Doufleur by Andressa Negri (Empowering Mothers, Empowering the World)
This name of this painting is “La Doufleur” in french which means “The Pain” in english. Here I show the pain I went through with the father of two of my children. He would fight me and from that one time I lost a child 3 months pregnant. I could never decide for myself. He would control my phone, when I eat, when I could see my family, friends, when I could work, or do sports. He would speak to me in a brutal way and say to me he wanted to see me dead. At the top of the painting you can see his hands, how he tried to control me. In the middle, that is me, speechless and feeling not only overwhelmed but in great pain, I have wings but I can’t fly because so much suffering has broken me, but deep down I still have faith. Down on the left, it is death who is waiting for me and lastly, on the right side, is it my family that I lost and my children, Hamza and Aaliyah (who are now with the first father). Hope you enjoy my art…
Love,
AN
